Dr. Ayman Attia was Held  Liable for More than $55,000.  So was New York Internal Medicine, P.C.

After the hearing, both parties submitted post-hearing briefs.  Then, the Administrative Law Judge reviewed the testimony and evidence, along with the briefs submitted by the parties, to render a reasoned decision.  The Administrative Law Judge ruled that New York Internal Medicine, P.C. and Dr. Ayman Attia had to pay various categories of damages.  Dr. Ayman Attia and New York Internal Medicine, P.C. were ordered to pay $20,000 to Complainant “for her mental anguish” (P. 9).  In sum, Dr. Ayman Attia was held liable for more than $55,000 – a personal liability. 

Dr. Ayman Attia and New York Internal Medicine, P.C. were ordered to pay a civil fine of $20,000 to the NYSDHR.

Dr. Ayman Attia and New York Internal Medicine, P.C. and  were ordered to pay $15,620 in counsel fees and costs to Complainant’s attorney, Raymond Nardo, Esq.

These findings were made by the Administrative Law Judge, and upheld by the Commissioner of the New York State Division of Human Rights.  Dr. Ayman Attia was held liable for more than $55,000 in damages.
